Passport Radar Detector Installed

I’m not a huge fan of radar detectors as one should really pay attention to they’re driving.  Not speeding is a great rule to follow but this Challenger makes it very hard to stay below the speed limit.  All you need to do is innocently shift down to pass a car and “BAM” you are at 100 miles per hour.  So, to curve these accidental speeding incidences I thought it would be a good idea to install a Passport 8500 radar detector.  There is a BlendMount kit out there that can install the detector flush to the bottom of the rear view mirror.  Basically you tap into the powered mirror and use a custom clamp to mount the detector.  Very easy to install, clean, and so far working well with no tickets.  I have noticed a few times the detractor went off and a cop was shooting radar at me but I wasn’t going over the speed limit so I can’t exactly say that the detector worked.  As a side note after installing the detector my windshield sun visor does not fit now and I will have the cut a small modification in the visor to allow room for the additional space the detector takes up.
